Happy Acres Kampground
- Hiking 25 acres of heavily wooded and hilly land abutting the campground are laced with groomed hiking trails, and bi-sected by a picturesque creek. Great for the Naturalist or the Novice. Geocache coordinates are available to our registered guests in the office.
- Bicycling The Campground roadways provide low vehicle traffic for bicycle riders. Motorcycles, Mopeds, Motorized Scooters, Go-carts, ATV's, and private Golf Cars are NOT permitted. Bicyclists are encouraged to ride safely, and for the true adventurer, the rural setting provides miles of low traffic country roads. Numerous public trails are a short drive away.
- Swimming A heated pool is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The pool depth varies from 2 feet to only 5 feet and diving is not permitted. Swimmers are expected to wear proper swim wear and shower before entering the pool. Tee shirts or street clothes are strictly prohibited, as are shoes and aqua-socks. A 2½ acre pond reaches a depth of 17 feet is also available for swimmers. A shallow sandy beach and large grassy shore provides sun bathing, and some great sand castles. There are no Life Guards at either location, and parents are encouraged to accompany their children.
- Fishing The large pond is stocked with Blue gills, Large mouth Bass, and Channel Catfish, registered guests may fish without a license. Worms are for sale at the boat rentals or free under a rock. Outside bait like Minnows and Leaches are not necessary and are strictly prohibited. Size limits are posted by the pond and the Catfish make a great meal!
- Volleyball A professional size sand court is located near the office. A ball may be signed-out from the office at no charge. Organized games are planned at least twice a year.
- Horse shoes Two regulation courts are available near the office. Shoes may be signed-out at no charge. An organized tournament is usually scheduled at least twice each season. Consult the Weekend Schedule for dates.
- Basketball A non-regulation concrete court with two baskets is a popular area near the office. Balls are available on a sign-out basis. The scheduled "Two on Two" tournaments draw a large group of participants. Check the Weekend Schedule for dates.
- Arcade An assortment of pin-ball and electronic games to entertain all ages.
- Boat rental Three outboard powered "Bumper Boats", four bumper cars, as well as two four person Paddle boats, two Paddle Swans, a dragon boat, and pirate boat and assorted Fun Bugs and Kayaks are available on a rental basis on weekends. The Paddle Boats are available to rent throughout the week. Life jackets are provided free of charge to the boaters. The life jackets are mandatory, and must be worn by all boaters. The use of private water craft is limited to very small inflatable rafts, etc. Life jackets remain to be required and must be provided by the craft owner.
- Miniature Golf A 9 hole course and an 18 hole course, both for the novice level, serve to keep the kids busy, and Mom and Dad too! Low rental rates provide a lot of entertainment for the price.
- Animals Mini-Zoo This keeps us busy all year long. A wide assortment of animals and birds are kept at several locations for the patrons to watch and feed if they like. If you are lucky, you might witness the birth of a baby Llama, or Donkey, but there is almost always a baby around somewhere.
- Crayon Bounce This inflatable bounce is a big hit. It is reserved for the young crowd under 54 inches tall. A very low cost gives a half hour of bouncing fun, and a worn out pair of socks. Open on weekends only.
- Organized Kids Games Every weekend, rain or shine, the Recreation Director drives her "Trolley" around the campground to herald the coming of the scheduled events. Her day begins with the 'Kids Games'. The Recreation Director takes charge and entertains the kids of all ages for an hour of fun and games. A little while later she spends another hour doing something crafty with the kids. The Recreation Director becomes a very popular young lady.
- Bingo Every Friday night and Saturday at the Bingo Pavilion, check weekend activity schedule for exact times.
- Saturday night entertainment The Recreation Director finally wraps up her day with the Karaokee Machine, and anybody who loves to have fun. The evenings are as unpredictable as the weather, but the gang always seems to be rockin' by 9:30 PM when she has to shut down out of respect for our neighbors, and the 10:00 campground "Quiet time" rule.
